Heartbroken, helpless, and far away. Our own Sirena Varma, a Lebanese expat living in Sydney, emotionally captures and shares her response, when words failed, to the horrific explosion in Beirut on August 4th.
100% of your payment (excluding shipping costs) will be donated to NGOs and individuals directly impacted by the tragedy - think of the prints as our little thank you for making a donation.
We will equally distribute all funds to the Children's Cancer Center Lebanon and towards disaster relief and reparation for Kafala victims in Lebanon run by Egna Legna Besidet. We will provide updates on our donation and the total funds raised on our social media platforms.
The Children's Cancer Center Lebanon
As an emergency relief response, CCCL has pledged to take care of the treatment of all kids with cancer in Lebanon for the coming 6 months including all needed medications and medical supplies. 7 of their 19 rooms were damaged by the blast and 3 patients were injured. In addition, much of the medical equipment and medications were lost in this tragic catastrophe.
Egna Legna Besidet
'Egna Legna Besidet' work on migrant domestic workers' issues in Lebanon to fight against the injustices of the Kafala system (modern slavery for migrant domestic workers in Lebanon), gender-based violence, and the exploitation of adolescent labour.
As a disaster relief response, they are supporting victims of Kafala affected by the explosion. With the help of donations, they are working to deliver food, clothes, medicine, sanitation necessities, and more to women of over a dozen nationalities.
